A few Website Gripes

The internet is an amazing collection of usefuly information and resources. And a growing number of website are abusing the internet by careless and thoughtless individuals merely trying to make a quick buck - or beat out the next guy for a place higher up on a search engine. Here are a few annoying traits;

1. TALKIES- Websites that IMMEDIATELY start playing a video or start talking! These are very annoying - and visitors should be given the option to click on them to begin playing the video or hearing the sales pitch!
2. Endless Link Sites - You know, those endless websites that appear when you are seriously searching for information. And when you click on the page - you get a full page of ads (odds are it is one of those pay per click links) and another list of links to click on. But NONE of the information you were searching for!
3. Pop Up Windows Those websites that immediately open up a new browser tab or window even before the initial page loads. Or if you mistakenly click on what you think is a valid link - A NEW WINDOW APPEARS that is filled with ads!
   Even more annoying are those windows that pop up another window when you try and close them!
4. Get Lost Maze - Websites where you have to keep clicking the back arrow of the browser because the website navigation is terrible!
5. BUY NOW Those warm and fuzzy websites that have a host of items you want to buy. But no prices. Naturally not all websites are expected to have prices on everything due to sizes, shipping etc.. But for the basic items, you need to click the Buy now button, then be faced with another question of how much are they charging for shipping! Now here, they want your credit card information before you can click to the next screen to find this information out!
   Come on - Websites should have prices where needed, and the shipping clearly spelled out BEFORE collecting any personal or credit card information.
6. LINK FARMS Those annoying endless lists of web page links that get you nowhere. Especially annoying are those spam messages requesting link exchanges with you! Look - if you can't get to the top of search engines legitimately - get out of the business!
